Akshay Kumar
What if we tell you that Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia is “Khiladi of Bollywood”? Well before you start complaining, “No it is the one and only Akshay Kumar”. Let us clarify that Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia born on September 9, 1967, in City Amritsar, Punjab one day decided to act in Bollywood.
And because Kumar Gaurav was one of the leading stars in the 1987 film, and his character’s name was Akshay, Rajiv decided to change his name to Akshay Kumar.
And what happened next is known by the entire nation. Akshay’s father was a government employee, and call of duty led them to shift from Amritsar to Chandini Chownk, Delhi. After spending his childhood in Delhi, the actor later went to Bangkok to learn martial arts. Akshay also served as a chef there before he decided to come back.
Then later destiny made a flip and entered him into the glamour industry. After that, Akshay’s continuous toil took him to where he is today. Well, that’s why we love our Khiladi so much!
Kapil Sharma
King of comedy, Kapil Sharma to hails from Amritsar, Punjab. Kapil Sharma is one of the famous personalities of Amritsar. Kapil’s father was in the police force, and his mother was a housewife. Though raised in a middle-class family, Sharma never gave up on his passion for acting or comedy. And do you know?
Kapil’s nickname is “Tony“. He did his schooling from Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School and then got graduated from Hindu College, Amritsar.
He started his career as a comedian by participating in “Hasde Hasounde Raho” from a Punjabi channel “mh1”. However, he didn’t win that show but is now surely stealing millions of heart every day.

Talented guy and one of the famous personalities of Amritsar and is a proud ALUMNI of renowned Khalsa college. Now gill is a well-known singer, composer, actor and a film producer. He was born and bought up in Boorchand area of the city.
Chandan Prabhakar
Aka chandu, yes it is right when Krishna claims that half of the artist on the sets of “The Kapil Sharma Show” is from Amritsar. You’ll be surprised to know that Chandan holds an engineering degree!
He enjoyed doing comic roles since his childhood. And thus later, landed up in the aptest platform ever.
Bharti Singh
Another well-known comedian, Bharti Singh, is also from Amritsar. She completed her schooling for DAV public school and later her graduation from BBK DAV College Amritsar.

Jordan Sandhu

Sam Manekshaw
Braveheart of Amritsar Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw, PV, PB, MC, popularly referred as Sam Manekshaw and Sam Bahadur, was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
He was the first-ever Indian Army officer to achieve “The Rank of Field Marshal”.
